Congratulations to Valentina Ariza for recognition and consideration for the BPD Council!
Valentina Ariza is a Data Engineer with a passion for data and Python. Beyond her professional work, she is a co-organizer of PyLadies Medellín, part of the PyLadies Colombia chapter, and a Women Techmakers ambassador, both communities dedicated to empowering women in tech. She actively supports initiatives that bring technology to underrepresented communities in Colombia, including UbuntuTech, which highlights Afro-Colombian professionals in tech, and Guardianes Ancestrales, which brings technology to indigenous communities. Valentina also personally mentors women seeking their first jobs in data and Python, and co-hosts Datasoul, a podcast exploring technology and mental health.
The BPD council is the sounding board for decisions that need to be made in Black Python Devs. They are the advisory group who share how our actions can impact their communities. The council is made up of organizers, BPD leaders and those in leadership positions around the Python world.
Congratulations again to Valentina!
