BAOVOLA Marie Anna Added to BPD Council

Congratulations to BAOVOLA Marie Anna from Madagascar on her recognition and consideration for the BPD Council!

BAOVOLA hails from Madagascar and is a cofounder of the only official PostgreSQL user group in Africa (recognized by both US and Europe NGOs as there is not Africa NGO)

She’s worked to build the community and through user feedback held her first user group to an astonishing 30 members. Baolova has also organized the first PG Conference in Madagascar.

Her team faces many of the challenges coming from political pressures to language barriers in supported documentation.

PostreSQL is one of/if not the most popular database technologies in the world and prominently used in the Python community. We hope to learn a lot from BAOVOLA!

The BPD council is the sounding board for decisions that need to be made in Black Python Devs. They are the advisory group who share how our actions can impact their communities. The council is made up of organizers, BPD leaders and those in leadership positions around the Python world.

Congratulations again to BAOVOLA!
